Creating Your First Project
This guide walks you through creating and setting up your first project in DreamSolve.
Understanding Projects
A Project is a top-level node that contains all the work related to a specific goal. Projects can contain:
- Tasks and subtasks
- Teams and team members
- Files and documents
- Agents assigned to work
Creating a New Project
From the Menu Bar
- Click New in the menu bar
- Select Project
- Fill in the details:
- Name: A clear, descriptive name
- Description: Explain what the project is about (this helps AI generate better plans)
- Status: Set the initial status (usually "Active")
- Click Save
From the Onboarding Dialog
If you see the Welcome dialog:
- Go to the Create New tab
- Click New → Project
- Follow the same steps above
Describing Your Project
A good project description helps the AI understand your goals. Include:
- What you're trying to accomplish
- Why it matters
- Who is involved (if applicable)
- Any constraints or requirements
Example Description
"Build a customer feedback portal for our SaaS product. We need to collect user feedback, categorize it by feature area, and track implementation status. The portal should integrate with our existing support system and allow users to vote on feature requests."
After Creating Your Project
Once your project is created:
- Generate Tasks: Use the Plan feature to create an initial task breakdown
- Organize: Drag nodes in Map View to arrange them logically
- Assign Work: Start assigning agents or team members to tasks
- Attach Files: Add relevant documents using File Management
Tips for Success
- Start with a clear, achievable scope
- Break down large projects into phases
- Use descriptive names for easy navigation
- Review and refine AI-generated plans
